Media Advisory: FAO to release report reviewing Ministry of Long-Term Care’s Spending Plan

FAO TO RELEASE REPORT REVIEWING MINISTRY OF LONG-TERM CARE’S SPENDING PLAN

TORONTO, May 25, 2021 – On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report to support the Standing Committee on Estimates’ review of the Ministry of Long-Term Care’s 2021-22 Expenditure Estimates. The report provides a financial overview of the ministry and identifies key financial issues, including the commitment to add and redevelop 30,000 long-term care beds and increase the average daily direct care hours provided to long-term care residents.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 8:30 a.m.

The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:00 a.m. via Microsoft Teams web conference following the release of the report. Please contact Anna Giannini at 647.527.2385 or AGiannini@fao-on.org for log-in and password information. 

At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer questions on a not-for-attribution basis.
