FAO TO RELEASE REPORT COMPARING ONTARIO’S 2020-21 FISCAL POSITION TO OTHER PROVINCES
TORONTO, April 5, 2022 – On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report that provides a comparison of Ontario government revenue, program spending, budget balance, net debt, and interest expense with other provinces based on Statistics Canada’s Government Finance Statistics, focusing on results from the 2020-21 fiscal year.
The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 9:00 a.m.
The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:00 a.m. via Microsoft Teams web conference following the release of the report. Please contact Jessica Martin at 647.527.2385 or JMartin@fao-on.org for log-in and password information.
At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer questions on a not-for-attribution basis.
Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Peter Weltman, will be available for “on-the-record” media questions immediately following the background briefing.
