Media Advisory: FAO to release summary report on costing climate change impacts to public infrastructure

FAO TO RELEASE SUMMARY REPORT ON COSTING CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS TO PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE

TORONTO, November 21, 2023 – On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a summary report that estimates provincial and municipal budgetary impacts of changing climate hazards on public infrastructure in Ontario.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 9:00 a.m.

The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:00 a.m. in the media studio at the Ontario Legislature. At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer technical questions.

Following the presentation, Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Jeffrey Novak, will make a statement and respond to media questions.
