Media Advisory: FAO to release an analysis of COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on Ontario’s regional labour markets

FAO TO RELEASE AN ANALYSIS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC’S IMPACT
ON ONTARIO’S REGIONAL LABOUR MARKETS

TORONTO, June 22, 2020 – On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report on Ontario’s regional labour market results during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing an assessment of the pandemic’s impact on labour markets in Ontario’s major cities, based on Statistics Canada’s Census Metropolitan Areas.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en at 9:00 a.m.

The FAO will provide a media briefing upon request. Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Peter Weltman, will be available for “on-the-record” media questions following release of the report.
