Media Advisory: FAO to release report on the potential impacts of us tariffs on the Ontario economy

FAO TO RELEASE REPORT ON THE POTENTIAL IMPACTS OF US TARIFFS ON THE ONTARIO ECONOMY

TORONTO, April 29, 2025 – On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report that examines Ontario’s trade relationship with the United States (US) and estimates the potential impacts of US tariffs on Ontario’s economy, including exports, imports, GDP, employment and inflation.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org at 8:30 a.m.

The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 11:00 a.m. in the media studio at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer technical questions.

Following the briefing, Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Jeffrey Novak, will be available to respond to media questions.
