Media Advisory: FAO to release a report on ServiceOntario relocations

FAO TO RELEASE A REPORT ON SERVICEONTARIO RELOCATIONS

TORONTO, January 13, 2025 – On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report that examines the Province’s plan to relocate nine ServiceOntario centres into Staples Canada stores. The report provides an overview of the agreement between the Province and Staples Canada, outlines the costs associated with this agreement and compares these costs against the alternative of retaining the original operators under two scenarios.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org at 8:30 a.m.

Interested media are invited to attend a media briefing at 10:00 a.m. virtually on Microsoft Teams. Please contact Sophia Zhu at SZhu@fao-on.org or 416 931 5498 for log-in and password information.

Following the briefing, Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Jeffrey Novak, will be available to respond to media questions.
