    This report examines the Province’s nine energy and electricity subsidy programs, estimates the cost of the programs over 20 years, and reviews how the programs affect the electricity bills of Ontario households and businesses. The report also identifies changes to the subsidy programs since the introduction of the Fair Hydro Plan in 2017 and estimates the cost of those changes. Finally, the report discusses how the Province plans to achieve its commitment to lower electricity bills by 12 per cent.

    This report provides the FAO’s projection of the government’s fiscal position over the 2021-22 to 2023-24 period. The report compares the FAO’s outlook to the government’s plan presented in the 2021 Fall Economic Statement for budget balance, key debt measures, revenues and program spending.

    This report introduces the Costing Climate Change Impacts on Public Infrastructure project, which provides projections of the long-term costs that certain climate change hazards will impose on Ontario’s provincial and municipal infrastructure budgets. The report outlines the context and methodology, describes the climate hazards included in the project, and discusses the projections of these hazards to public infrastructure. Results will be published in three sector reports for buildings, transportation, and water infrastructure.

    This report estimates the impacts of changes in extreme rainfall, extreme heat and freeze-thaw cycles on the long-term costs of maintaining public buildings in a state of good repair. The report shows that these climate hazards will materially increase the cost of maintaining public buildings in Ontario, and the future severity of climate change will have a direct impact on provincial and municipal infrastructure budgets.

    This report examines how home energy spending differs across household income levels and regions in Ontario. The report also discusses how the benefits from provincial programs that subsidize the cost of electricity are distributed to Ontario households by income level and region.

The report also provides information on the sources of funding for provincial measures and estimates the timing of provincial spending.

    This report reviews the infrastructure assets owned by Ontario municipalities, assesses the condition of those assets, and estimates the cost to bring these assets into a state of good repair.

    This report provides information on spending by the Province through the end of the 2020-21 fiscal year (March 31, 2021), including changes to the 2020-21 spending plan, unaudited spending results, an updated budget deficit projection, and the year-end status of the Province’s three unallocated funds.
