TORONTO, May 21, 2026 – Today, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) released an interactive webpage that allows users to review the 2026-27 Expenditure Estimates for five ministries: Children, Community and Social Services; Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security; Education; Health; and Long-Term Care. Together, these five ministries account for 73 per cent of the Province’s 2026-27 spending plan in the 2026 Ontario Budget.
The Expenditure Estimates set out the fiscal year’s spending requirements for ministries and constitute the government’s formal request to the Legislature for approval to spend the amounts as detailed in the Estimates. With this interactive webpage, users can review the 2026-27 Expenditure Estimates for the five ministries and compare requested spending against spending over the previous five years from the major program (known as a ‘Vote’) to the standard account level of detail.
