FAO TO RELEASE REPORT ON THE PROVINCE’S PLAN TO SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF GREEN ENERGY
CONTRACTS FOR INDUSTRIAL AND LARGE COMMERCIAL RATEPAYERS
TORONTO, March 17, 2021 – On Thursday, March 18, 2021, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report on the Government of Ontario’s new program that will subsidize the cost of green energy contracts for industrial and large commercial ratepayers. The report explains how the program will work, projects the cost of the program to the Province and estimates the impact of the program on Ontario electricity ratepayers.
The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 9:00 a.m.
The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:30 a.m. via web conference following the release of the report. Please contact Anna Giannini at 647.527.2385 or AGiannini@fao-on.org for log-in and password information.
At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer questions on a not-for-attribution basis.
