FAO TO RELEASE UPDATED BUDGET OUTLOOK FOR ONTARIO
TORONTO, February 7, 2022 – On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report updating the FAO’s projection of the government’s fiscal position over the 2021-22 to 2023-24 period. The report compares the FAO’s outlook to the government’s plan presented in the 2021 Fall Economic Statement for the budget balance, key debt measures, revenues and program spending.
The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 9:00 a.m.
The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:00 a.m. via Microsoft Teams web conference following the release of the report. Please contact Jessica Martin at 647.527.2385 or JMartin@fao-on.org for log-in and password information.
At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer questions on a not-for-attribution basis.
Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Peter Weltman, will be available for “on-the-record” media questions immediately following the background briefing.
