Media Advisory: FAO to release update on Ontario's labour markets amid COVID-19

FAO TO RELEASE UPDATE ON ONTARIO’S LABOUR MARKETS AMID COVID-19

TORONTO, February 17, 2021 – On Thursday, February 18, 2021, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report on Ontario’s labour market in 2020, evaluating the impact of the pandemic on employment across various demographic groups, industries, and major cities in Ontario.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 9:00 a.m.

The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:00 a.m. via web conference following the release of the report. Please contact Anna Giannini at 647 527 2385 or AGiannini@fao-on.org for log-in and password information. 

At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer questions on a not-for-attribution basis.

Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Peter Weltman, will be available for “on-the-record” media questions immediately following the background briefing at 10:30 a.m.
